Men's Isurus iElite Wetsuit (4/3/4) Medium

$400.00 - Men's Isurus iElite Wetsuit (4/3/4) Medium

Purchased this past Saturday at NorCal and still have receipt. Paid $541.20. Make me a reasonable offer and let's talk. Need to recoup costs so I can get a suit that fits me!

I was told that it would work for a woman despite some concerns and it turns out it totally doesn't. Amazing suit, very warm and well constructed but definitely will not work in the long term for the female form. Very sad to have to sell but needing to recoup some of the funds to get myself something that fits.

If you are wondering about the brand please refer to the below URL. Local boy company, started out of Montara, is now blowing up. High quality Yamamoto rubber, very very light and warm. Great range of motion.

Sounds like they need to accept a return if they told you a mens suit would fit you!!

I would give them a very hard time.

If that doesn't work, I will buy it from you for $350, and if it fits. you can never have too many wetsuits.

Bummer. I'm a gal and I have their small tall fits me really well.
Will see if anyone I know is looking.

BTW, they are supposedly coming out with a women's line this fall.

I'm torn between getting another men's ST that I know fits and waiting for the women's suits. I want to support quality gear for women, but I'm always afraid women's gear will be sub-standard. I know those guys, and I know they will make a quality women's line, but there's still appeal in buying a suit I know I like.

NorCal should totally take it back and at least give you full credit towards a women's suit. These suits are amazing. Best suit I've ever owned. Way more durable than a certain other brand that uses the Yamamoto rubber.

I'm cool with my mass produced O'Neill 4/3, but maybe I'm a bit too cost-conscious and cold-hardy.

@ Capra - You know, bless Mr. Oneill for his soul, but i pretty much wont buy one of his suits again. holes, tatters, and shreds...and that's after a fall and winter. But who knows? Is there a perfect wetsuit? I recently switched to the Rip Curl Flash Bomb. Sooooo....toasty.

Tracey -- it would have been nice if the owner of Isurus (who met me at Nor Cal to do the fitting) had told me he was coming out with a women's line so soon since I voiced some major concerns about the fit of it which he brushed off. I am SUPER bummed about the whole situation. Nor Cal won't even consider taking it back since I wore it once (no I didn't pee in it either -- was out for about an hour at Dunes the day after I bought it)

OB-Brit -- thanks for the testimony to the suit. My boyfriend has had one for 2 and half years and loves it. That's why I even considered trying a men's suit in the first place. It is SO worth the money if it fits you!

Jeez. I'm definitely not going to give them my business if that's the kind of support they provide. That's just bad business. Make sure you Yelp them, if you haven't already done so.

@Unfocused, O'Neils due tend to blow out a bit early, but they are usually really good about fixing them or replacing them under warranty. Have you tried sending em' back?

Mindee...my info on the women's line is a bit old, so perhaps they aren't on schedule for the fall. (or have reconsidered all together. I've had TWO surf shop owners tell me they carry women's suits out of charity as they hardly ever sell. Ugh.)

Extra bummer that one of the Isurus guys assured you it fit and you still had trouble. Mine was tight in the beginning (I could barely get it off!) but otherwise fit like a glove. Did you talk to the guy you fit with and see if he can't help you out?

I wish I could help, I'm due for a new one, but a M def won't fit me and it's not in my budget to replace the suit I keep for my brother when he visits with an Isurus. (Tho man, he'd have a MUCH better time surfing in that than the low end Xcel suit I currently have for him.)

Btw, I DESPISE the g-bomb. Mine didn't even make it to a year without every single seam coming undone. Ripcurl asked for $150 to do repairs as pretty much every panel had to be replaced. I was expecting them just to give me a new suit as they had for other folks I know, but they didn't even offer. It's the leakiest, coldest, most delicate suit I have. My 4 year old low end Xcel is warmer and held up better at half the price. I'd avoid the g-bomb.

T -- It was super tight in the shop (def could not have gotten in a smaller one even with lube and a shoe horn) but once I got in the water, it filled up and the lower back and crotch just held water. The boobs and butt are tooooo tight. And the armpits are super baggy...Its just not cut right for me it seems. I still think those boys have a stellar product and wish them all the luck. I am just sad I don't have a wetsuit right now :( I did hit him up but nothing was resolved and things were left hanging. Hoping that maybe he's out of town right now and will still follow up once he's back because I really do want to support and promote them!

I have been surfing since I was 16 (so almost 15 years now! GEEZ!) and there were not really any women's suits available then....it surprises me that quality women's gear is still so hard to find! I think that (and this is not to start a So Cal/Nor Cal debate) shops in southern california have a bigger selection of women's gear because more women surf there....but. Who knows. I have been out of the industry and keeping to myself for some time now and I don't know trends etc. I just found out that Billabong is going under...

Thanks for the support y'all....just wanted to say that I am not wanting anyone to boycott either Isurus or Nor Cal...just got stuck in a shitty situation and hoping that someone can find good use of the suit soon!

@ Hurricanewe- it's funny, my new Rip Curl already ripped in the ankle (got it for Christmas). I just sent that one back. The O'neill was probably repairable, but at this point, way too far gone. Holes everywhere. I wore it two days ago and it felt like i had long johns on. the water seems warm right now, so wasn't too bad.
But yeah, from here on out, im sending ripped suits back.

I hope you find something. I'll see if I can't find any more info about the women's line (before I go getting anyone else's hopes up!)

I don't understand why it's so hard to make gear for women that's quality. It kills a little part of my soul every time I see a sub-standarded piece of gear with a little flower on it or a pink swoosh. Wetsuits, snow gear, camping gear, almost every area of sports fall victim to this (except running shoes and yoga pants.)

Btw, I did rip a seam in the butt on my ST so you maybe be on to something about where they might need a little more give in their fit for ladies. It's getting to be about time to do another durability review on mine.

Sing it sister! KILLS ME that I can't get normal gear to ride or surf! I don't even have the energy to get all up on that soap box right now. But I agree with you. Example. Two weeks ago I was in SD visiting friends and surfing. Rented a board because for the two days I was there it wasn't worth it to fly one down....the one I rented was a crappy epoxy 6'8" fun shape that was a "girls model" which consisted of awful pink flowers and hearts. Give me a f-ing break. Women all over the world, pros and 'regular' people alike are charging the F out of waves of all sizes and break types. And yet, we are stuck with pink flowers.

Side note. I do actually like hot pink and I have flowers tattooed all over me. But I don't want to be a walking Mary Kay billboard! COME ON!

So I am un impressed that they have treated u that way for a local business it sucks i figured the whole ethos behind the ideal of a local business is to be close to the ground and in touch with there customers.
But I did usually use an Xl for the last 3 yrs, with Isurus I use an XXl now I am not what I would think of as an XXL I am 6'3" 230 it was hard to get used at first and a pain to get in and out of.
After a few sessions it reallly started to change and fit snug to my body.
I am sorry your having a bad experience with the suit but try it again or take it back and maybe try another size.
Anyway hope you work it out.
Good luck.

Follow up y'all -- Nor Cal and Isurus have been in touch with me and are sorting this all out. Long round about process/story but essentially all is good. Please continue your patronage of both and if you have not checked out either business, please do so.

Also, I wanted to make it clear; I never posted this suit for sale here as a venue to bash or shit talk either business. Both Nor Cal and Isurus are outstanding local business who carry/manufacture quality products. It was not my intention to have either boycotted due to this situation/miscommunication. I was only attempting to sell what didn't work for me after all approaches I had tried prior didn't work. I was trying to be transparent as to why so whomever was interested knew why I was selling the suit; I always appreciate a back story on something I am interested in purchasing used.

Glad things are getting sorted out! Hope you'll have a snug warm wetsuit at the end of all this and the one that didn't fit gets a good home. :)

to be honest i have had a similar experience with norcal. bought my second isurus suit from them, same size as my first, put it on, took it into the water one time, for about half an hour. once in, i discovered isurus had modified their sizing from the original cut. took it back to norcal the next day and they essentially told me to buzz off. i now have a brand new 600 dollar suit that almost, but doesn't quite fit, hanging in my closet. after buying thousands of dollars in crap from norcal, i thought they might treat me better, maybe at least offer to put it on consignment, but nope. so screw em. i'm pretty much done shopping there as a result unless it is for some lowball item like wax. if anybody wants an LT hooded isurus, let me know. i would like to sell it. its still the best suit i've ever worn, btw, but i won't be giving norcal much more business after that.

If anyone has trouble with Isurus, you might also consider a Patagonia suit. By far the best suit I've ever owned. Compared to my old Excel its like the difference between fine skis and that stupid circular sled people used to use for some reason.

Ok I need a better analogy, but seriously I love my Patagonia wetsuit. I didn't even know I hated every other wetsuit until I tried it.

That said, I've never tried an Isurus, and didn't know about them when I bought my Patagonia. So if those suits will work for you, buy local.

@FutureSparky, sorry to hear about the NorCal experience. However, as it turns out, I'm in the market for a LT I-Evade. What model suit is it? 4-3-4 or 4-5-4? Not sure how to PM on this site so I created a CL ad - respond to me via that if you're interested in some commerce

Hey chadical. My ISURUS (i-evade 4/3/4 - hooded) is for sale at PROOFLAB in marin for $250 in the used wetsuit section. I used the suit for about thirty minutes, otherwise the suit is in BRAND NEW CONDITION. For reference I originally paid $600 out the door with tax. Prooflab is the bomb, BTW.
