Sunday 2pm - Bolinas, fair surfing

Lots of waves on tap. Mostly waist high, some shoulder high. I got 36 between 8:30 and 12:30. The wind was picking up when I left.

Friday 7pm - Bolinas, fair surfing

Arrived at the Bo about 2 pm. Very nice day, slight breeze, and mild water temp with surf running in the 2' to occasional 4' range. Beach was comfortable without too many people there. Surfed the #####, first pic, as there were fewer out there. Long waits, but worth it, second pic.

A startling encounter earlier with a small shark sighting where I surfed, but it was said by a local that it was not a predator, and nobody got out.

Shared some glassy ankle-biters @ MCBL with a bunch of stoked folks under a foggy sky. Yay!

From the 2mile surf report-
"South swell is coming up the CA coast and we are predicting triple over knee surf by this afternoon into the evening."

Wednesday 7pm - Bolinas, poor surfing

The (2 mile surfshop) Bolinas report this morning read -
"The patch has ankle high sets rolling through." Can you call something ankle high a "set"? And does it "roll"??

Tuesday 9am - Bolinas, poor surfing

Nah. Whether it was the south wind or some other oceanic juju, I don't know but it was a mess. Paddled over to seadrift chasing some phantom wave: junk. Paddled back over to groin and caught a few bumpy, sectiony rides. Showed promise when the wind dipped.

Tuesday 9pm - Bolinas, fair surfing

Hit it briefly with the beau from 5:30 to 6:45. Knee-high closeouts begging for a Softop, which 2 Mile happily provided for him at the last minute. Woulda stayed out for longer, but it was his first time in 20 years and I forgot how easily you tire when you're new. I'm proud; he caught a few belly-rides and I could swear I saw a silly grin ;)

After turkey din-dins at Coast Cafe, we settled into a quaint room at the Grand Hotel and should be able to surf again at dawn before heading back home. I was all cranky and sick earlier, and now I feel like a new man. Marin will do that to you!

Tuesday 10am - Bolinas, poor surfing

Sunny, glassy, knee-to-waist-high rollers exceeded expectations. Still gonna give it a poor because it's a looooong wait between ridable sets.

Friday 11am - Bolinas, poor surfing

Hunted the elusive south-swell this morning. Waist-high & infrequent on 'the patch' at high tide. A bit o'wind to paddle through, but f you can catch one there are a few fun sections to connect. Gonna give it a poor based on frequency. Sunny, fun morning overall!

Friday 10am - Bolinas, fair surfing

This morning's very low tide revealed most of the rocks in 'the patch'. Outside the big rock, there were some fun waist-high peelers rolling over murky, VERY cold water. Sheesh that was cold. Some fun, long rides making section after section.

The breeze was offshore and pretty stiff. Probably held up the faces a bit. Definitely required some extra oomph to get into the wave.

Monday 10am - Bolinas, fair surfing

Surfed 'the patch' this beautiful, sunny morning with a small gang of super-nice, super-stoked surfers. Fun waist-high rollers in the sun. Lots of waves for everyone. Saw Tracey tear up several nice waves and impress the whole group. What a great way to start the day.

On the way back over the hill, we saw a bunch of stunning classic roadsters driving north, thought about turning the car right around...

does SR have a radio button for "spring"? small, weak, and crumbly at the Bo. Beautiful sunshine though...

Sunday 7pm - Bolinas

Surfed the patch at MCBL from about 1:30 to 3 today, and it was about as good as Bolinas gets. Sunny with nonstop chest high rollers. Fun!
