Monday 2pm - Bolinas, good surfing

Nice day, but the water was like a washing machine. Churned up and running fast in both directions, lest we forget the outgoing tide carrying us out to sea. Left and right sides were in the 3' to 5' ranges.

Hope it cleans up, because there's plenty more coming.

Friday 5pm - Bolinas, fair- surfing

Giving it the fair, because there were a few waves, and of course, as I was leaving with the tide dropping, it started to come up a little more in the last pic.

Beautiful sunny and warm day, slight side shore that later turned into a somewhat off shore.

Friday 2pm - Bolinas, good+ surfing

The Bo' has been most Bo'-dacious Dudes and Dudettes!
Warmer than normal water temps (wore my 2/2 short sleeve), and waves all over the place in the waist to chest high ranges.

Monday 1pm - Bolinas, fair- surfing

Saturday AM, delayed postage.
Took a kookier friend out to the Bo'. He'd been attempting to learn on Huntington beachbreak and was amazed that surfing could be easier than that. I witnessed probably his first and second rides of any note. Felt good.

Thursday 2pm - Bolinas, poor+ surfing

Best laid plans for surfing today were gone this morning.

Arrived as the few dawn patrollers were leaving, and saw nothing but a glassy rock exposed area to the right, and a sucking tide to the left that was best for the surf schools that would be gearing up later on for their white water lessons.

Sunday 11pm - Bolinas, fair surfing

Not Bolinas - a nice sandy beach north of that one great big, geologically important point created by the San Andreas fault (granitic material on one side, coastal sediments on the other). thigh to chest high, glassy through the afternoon, got a few 30 to 50 yard lefts and rights with enough push to get a small, wide board going. bunch of old timers out on logs. Also spotted a nice dolphin couple cruising around a couple hundred yards offshore. fair enough for me.

Wednesday 7pm - Bolinas, poor+ surfing

Much of the same as last week, but with less swell action. Beautifully sunny and warm, although the water was a bit chilled, but we got used to it.

Lots of surf campers in the water. I counted approximately 40. But hey, I wish they had these surf camps when I was younger. Looks like fun.

Thursday 9pm - Bolinas, poor+ surfing

From the heat of the summer equinox, to the fog, wind, and 10 to 15 degree difference, the ocean was trying to produce. The waters were delicately textured for her pleasure, and maybe yours too, with long waits between pulses, but when they did arrive, they were only slightly above the waist at times.

The resultant youngsters frolicking with their surf camps in the surf and on the beach made for slightly crowded close to shore encounters. However, the outside was the place to put your log into. Either on the left, where the interval was very long, or the right that eventually produced some consistent ocean ribs.

Saturday 3pm - Bolinas, poor+ surfing

This is the farthest north spot on SR but I'm actually north of Marin at a well known sharky spot on the Sonoma coast. Waves are pretty poor here. Winds are fairly light but things are blown out. It's about WH to SH with some random nuggets popping up sporadically. The weather is absolutely epic and the beach is sparsely populated. It's nice to venture out of the City every once in awhile.

Thursday 4pm - Bolinas, poor+ surfing

A beautiful day at the beach for sunbathing, swimming, strolling, and water skiing, or simply paddling around for exercise. Not much else to report, other than it was warm too.

The picture pretty much sums up the conditions for the 3 hours we were there. No crowds, no traffic, etc, etc, etc. BTW, itʻs 3/2mm wetsuit time.
