Friday 4pm - Bolinas, poor+ surfing

Plenty warm inland, but by the time we got 5 miles from the Bo' the fog was still trying to break up, and never did, but nice and mellow temp. 11 to 2 the tide was still coming in, with what looked to be some promising size when it went back out. Surf in the sloppy and choppy 1' to 2' range.

Monday 10pm - Bolinas, poor+ surfing

Happy 4th! Went up north for a little parade and picnic action. Waves were rideable, but barely. Thigh high rogue waves and knee high sets. Warm, sunny, friendly. Ditched the wetsuit a while. Surf was poor+ barely there, but summer was good+ in full force. :D

Friday 5pm - Bolinas, fair- surfing

Did an early afternoon session, 1 - 3 p.m.. Smallish wind swell about 2' to 3' with long intervals. Surfed the Patch on an incoming tide that was building. As I left, waves were becoming more consistent, and in the 2' to 4' range. No crowds, as Stinson opened today for other than just wading. Talked to a few locals, and they are 'mum' on the event Sunday. "I know nothing."

BTW greacen, you've got me hooked on the pastries now! Stopped by a local bakery in town and gathered up a few apple fritters, and my old standard, the maple bar. Washed them down with some cold mango juice. Not too bad. Thanks!

Wednesday 7pm - Bolinas, poor+ surfing

This place has turned into a ZOO! But of course the reason being that Stinson was still closed to swimming, so everybody came to the Bo'. Haven't seen it like this except on hot holiday weekends, and it's worse what with the whitey sighting Sunday.

As for the conditions: 2', inconsistent, crowded, hot, and little to no parking past the Post Office.

Thursday 6pm - Bolinas, fair+ surfing

Swells about 10 sec intervals & waist to shoulder high with some juice in them. Sunny & windy, but there were 3 surf schools in the water from the channel to the ramp, about 50+. Parking lot full & lots of traffic to & from the Bo'. 'Summer's here!

I/we still stand by our previous conviction that these surf schools need to be regulated in some manner at smaller beaches. They can be dangerous, but we're also on the side of learning too.

Friday 6pm - Bolinas, fair- surfing

Got there at about 11 am, the wind had kicked up, but was blowing side shore and made the water choppy with 1' to 3' surf. Still had to go out though. Here's some pics with the GoPro, I'm in no way a Clark Little, but it's fun experimenting with the camera in the water. Left about 2:30 with the tied coming in and sets more frequently all over.

Friday 10am - Bolinas, poor surfing

Well, this was really Marin - other. Few guys out in the water enjoying mediocre shoulder high warbly surf. Better than not getting wet, some short rides, nothing special. Nice & sheltered from the wind but still plenty of chop on the water.

Seemed to be cleaning up nicely as the tide went out & I left the beach shortly before 9am.

Friday 4pm - Bolinas, fair+ surfing

Got to the Bo' about 1 pm. Glassy, cloud cover kept the wind away, and waves in the 2' to 4' range on the right side. Water was like, 'Brain Freeze!' But got used to it fast. Nice fun waves, and the reform inside for some longish rides.

Cant wait for Mr. Sun to show up soon.

Tuesday 10am - Bolinas, fair surfing

Really, I should call it poor, but I had too much fun. Tiny, glassy and mild from 7-9. Only a handful of people out, because there was hardly any energy.

I did see a wild turkey doing a mating display in a parking lot on Mt. Tam .

Saturday 4pm - Bolinas, good- surfing

Not too bad for a weekend. Definitely not HH to 2X's OH, unless you're horizontally challenged that is. About wast to chest high and pretty consistent. Surfed the right side, and loved the fast inner reformed waves to the beach, but after a few (6) of those, the paddle back out took its toll. But over all a fun day : - )

Friday 11am - Bolinas, good surfing

South swell delivered the goods in Marin. I got a roiling point to myself, and spent 8-9.30 being gently lifted onto long ch/hh walls. Exhaustingly long paddle-backs were followed by immediate new rides. Fantastic.
The tide came in as my tyrannosaurus arms gave out. I caught a last, absurdly long, gentle wave in.
