Surf Reports for Ocean Beach (SFOB)

in front of the Beach Chalet between around 9-11am, we found really fun, uncrowded, soft, chest to shoulder high waves rolling through. me and two friends sharing a peak that would yield some super fun long lefts if you got in at the right spot. really fun. started getting choppy and less consistent by the time we went in.

Fun waist to shoulder high conditions up and down the beach. A bit soft but no complaints from me. The crowds are out and the whining is back.

Sfob small but fun. First dry hair padlle out :-) plenty o shortboarders but perfect longboard or learner day.

Sfob is looking small and floppy but a bunch of people getting short rides. Am getting in.

Happy July 4th long weekend. Conditions are very similar to yesterday. The wind is basically calm at the beach and we have fairly clean/glassy conditions and surf that looks to be in the waist high range. Once again though, it's fairly weak and crumbly looking. It's a mixture of 10s period windswell from the west, and 14s groundswell from the southwest. Your best bet is likely to find somewhere that sees the most of that south. Overall, it's looking fair-

A bit small and lack-luster but fairly clean. Bigger sets looked to be chest high but soft. Not for me. There were a hundred pelicans dive-bombing the ocean.

It's another overcast summer morning here at ocean beach. Winds are light and the ocean is smooth with a light wind texture. Winds are light and the surf looks to be in the knee to waist high range. It's longer period windswell with nice long lines approaching the beach from the west. There isn't much power but the inside bars are producing an occasional decent looking wave. I'm calling it poor+

The winds at Ocean Beach have calmed down quite a bit this morning and turned to the south. The sky is overcast and the waves in the chest high range with some larger sets from time to time. Overall the waves are on the crumbly and sectiony side but definitely rideable. It's the same mix of longer and shorter period windswell that we've seen for the last few days. I'm calling it on the poor side of fair.

After a week in Maui, surf at SFOB too disorganized and wind sloppy to give it a go. Looks like yesterday, which was worse than it looked.

It's never good when the first thing that you see at the beach is someone flying a large traction kite. Ocean beach is sporting overcast skies, a moderate onshore wind and a mixture of short and long period windswell with a pipkin of chop. Delicious! It's a mess out there but its on the fair side of poor and there is definitely some fun to be had on the right end of a slightly tricky paddle. I'm going to give it a go since everyone else has been putting me to shame recently in the "crap surf tolerance" department.

7am this morning north OB was warbly and closed out, definitely on the poor side of fair, but there were some steep shoulder high+ corners to snag here and there. The winds are on it now and it's blown out, but tomorrow AM might be worth a look if you can deal with the paddle out, which really wasn't so bad this morning.

It's an overcast morning at ocean beach with a moderate onshore wind. The surf is looking ragged and hungover. There is a good amount of energy in the water, with the waves getting bigger as you head south, maybe head high+ at Sloat. The paddle looks challenging and the waves not worth it. It's vaguely doable if you are desperate.

Fun inside 2 to 3 foot grinders this morning. Better than it looked. Plus sunny and no wind. Paddle out? Of course.
