Saturday 6pm - Ocean Beach, good surfing

7:00 am: Paddled out through the fog to find satin smooth chest high peeling peaks, lively laughing women, phantom helicopters, and, an indescribably beautiful background of water-sky-fog-clouds all framed by a silvery shiny fogbow. Then the fog evaporated and it was beautiful in a whole new way. Small but visually stunning and fun.

Went out somewhere ###### around 12:30-2. Strong S-N current had me walking for a while when I got out. Fun rights and lefts up and down the beach, but the wind was starting to pick up onshore a bit when I left. Almost gave it a good-, but it was a little soft at times...I could have used a bit more foam.

Observed: Stunt pilots

Uber clean, sunny , waist-chest A-frame fun. What was lacking in size was made up for by low consequence mini barrels. Brought the fish out and had a blast. Get some!

Looked fun from the beach. Sun peeked out, winds were moderate, hardly any crowds...but once I paddled out it was close out city. Oh well, I'm not complaining...a poor day of surf is still a good day.

Wednesday 5 to 7 pm. Ahh, summertime. Had my window. Took it. And my reward was fog and onshores. CH+ on the N side; pretty serious surface chop. Plus on the poor rating becuase there was energy in the water, it was lined up, and the outside was frothing on the low tide. Early entry into speedy messy explosions on the inside. Surf then beer in the parking lot afterwards led me to be patient and actually funny with my kids while they procrastinated getting into bed, and I'm still stoked this morning. Funny how surfing with do that to a person...

Wednesday 9am - Ocean Beach

Drop dead gorgeous day at SFOB. Fast & glassy little shore pound peaks & closeouts. No hovercrafts yet but the dolphin show was great.

Wednesday 9am - Ocean Beach, poor surfing

Mushy and small and with the typical OB moodiness. Should've brought my longer board.

These are the days I am truly Grateful to live in San Francisco. Enjoyed both sunrise and sunset in pristine weather at Ocean Beach. Water was fairly warm, conditions were good, and wave count was high. Even got to share it with about 50 of my closest friends tonight.

And just like that, at the beginning of October, as always, OB turned on, and everything was just right.

Days like today make me want to quit my day job, live out of a van, and just surf all day long.

On a side note, I missed the last 2 days because I was down in Santa Barbara and LA for work. It was hot as hell, the surf was barely WH, and obviously crowded (both in the water and on the highway). It's good to be home.

Tuesday 10am - Ocean Beach, fair surfing

Today was like a date with the hot chick that you have been waiting for all summer. Except, she didn't quite put out. But o-boy was she looking good. Ended up with her ugly cousin on the inside after all said and done.

3-5pm Paddled out based on parking availability and the fact this stretch of beach had not been reported. Trying to avoid the flock as discussed below. Swell dying but still some nuggets. Best weather conditions in a year, sooo nice.
Observed: Vanload of druggies parked near me, must've been too hot in GG park. Didn't get my car broken into, stoked! Needless to say I didn't stash my key, went in the wetsuit pocket. Ended up picking up they trash they left behind later.

I worked from home today and watched out of the window one of the greatest days of surfing I've ever seen at OB. And me sidlelined with a fever. Hope y'all had fun. Bastards.
