U.S. Border Patrol agents reported finding an “abandoned” blue fiberglass surfboard, just north of the U.S./Mexico border Tuesday at Border Field State Park.
Further inspection revealed it had been hollowed out and glued back together after being stuffed with 36 pounds of marijuana, with an estimated street value of $29,360.
From a picture of the sliced open surfboard distributed by the Border Patrol Wednesday, the board doesn’t appear to be an expensive model. More like something from an old Cheech & Chong movie. Spray painted blue. Glued back together.
Agents spotted the board while following “foot traffic along the beach,” the agency reported in a press release. No one was arrested.
So, Cheech Marin was nowhere to be found?
