Dead blue whale washes ashore in San Mateo County
HALF MOON BAY -- Researchers are trying to determine how a pregnant blue whale that washed up on a beach in San Mateo County died.
The 80-foot whale came ashore on Saturday in a rocky area at Bean Hollow State Beach in the unincorporated community of Pescadero. Her fetus was about 50 feet from her body.
