Well-known big-wave surfer Anthony Ruffo was among 10 people arrested by police during two raids at drug houses this week, authorities reported.
Officers raided Ruffo's house Wednesday morning and seized more than an ounce of near-pure methamphetamine worth more than $3,000 on the street. Thursday morning, police went to a Lee Street house, near Emeline Avenue, where they arrested eight people and found drugs and two guns, according to Santa Cruz Deputy Police Chief Rick Martinez.
Both were the result of neighbors complaining about drug activity at the homes, Martinez said.
The bust at Ruffo's home, on the 1400 block of Laurel Street, mirrored a raid at the house six years ago.
