A blast / pic from the past at the Bo'. 1967. During these times, we surfed without wetsuits all year round, or with just a vest like my Brother is putting on. This was the summer of '67, 90 + degrees that day. Check out the boards, sweet.
It's also interesting how much the beach has changed. There is hardly any sand there anymore. Now, especially lately, that wall is getting pounded on.
Great photo. I guess the groin on the Bolinas side of the channel isn't really effective against erosion. Last Tuesday evening was the first time I surfed at low tide (I think a negative tide too) since the summer and it was amazing to see how much sand has washed away.
I love it. I grew up in Bolinas, and began surfing there in 1968 when I was 8. Beautiful old picture.
