@Tenderloin tom, not trying to be a dick here, but Aqua isn't exactly a "mom and pops" kind of store. It's two San Diego guys with trust fund money, if it was a mom and pop kind of shop they wouldn't have a second store on Haight St. that is less surf shop and more clothing store.

@Latarian....based off this comment and your postings I am convinced you are a total idiot. Do you have any idea what it takes to run a small business. Keep shopping at Costco buddy!! Most shops make their money on clothing, shoes and other stuff that have little to do with the act of surfing. You have to do this so you can keep your doors open. 9 thumbs down says it all!!
Unrelated...but I heard a week or two back that this Aqua location was closing. Some issue with their building and the surrounding property changing hands or going thru foreclosure.
they've been talking about re-developing the spot that aqua's on for quite some time. could be something else though, as I haven't heard anything about it in a few years.

The thing about trustifarians is you can fake it all day long but when the shit hits the fan, you have an out. Because money can do that for you. The rest of the world doesn't have the luxury.

Will you call his kids fake trustifarians b/c KS made a bunch of cash in his day? I just don't see why anyone would blindly assume something about someone with no evidence or regard. There's been a bunch of OLB bashing on this site lately, but those are all speaking from real life experiences - not from assumptions made based on bias or prejudice...
And on top of that, you're doing this towards by far the best supporter of local surfing and the coolest shop in town. Props to Aleks and Devin for giving surfing a home in this town.
I love Aleks! He is a good guy and has been nothing but nice to me all the way back to SF surf shop. I could give a shit about kelly Slater/pro surfing. It has nothing to do with me. I don't even know what OLB stands for either. But Yeah, I hate rich kids faking the funk.
