Brush up on your SUP skills on the slopes

1937

Centuries ago, the first skiers slid and glided over flat land with the aid of a pole. Today, snowboarders at long last can join their two-plank cousins in traversing horizontal snowy stretches. The Kahuna Snow Stick, an adjustable aluminum pole, is modeled after a stand-up surf paddle. It has a toothy “paddle” blade made of polycarbonate for pushing and poling in the snow....

I can see it being useful in the flats or XC.
But keep the sweep out of the jib park!
That thing is dangerous.

What is steezy about a 270 front lip sweeper baton twirl on the down box?
By definition, the fact that your sweeping negates both your style and ease.

That thing should have a leash on it.
Kooks will drop that shit and impale someone lower on the mtn.

Deep armpit to the floor carves?
People have been doing that without sticks for >20 years!

ok I hate this thing.

I don't understand why this pisses me off so much, but it does. I generally didn't care about SUPs until every goddamn sailboat on the bay pulled alongside me to check if I'm OK when I am paddling on my prone paddleboard because they can't fathom that I don't have a paddle. Now this piece of fucking shit?!?!?!?
