Bull sharks crowned bite-force champions

U.S. researchers and European colleagues say they've determined bull sharks have the strongest bite of any shark, even stronger than the dreaded great white.

Bull sharks, in relation to their body size, bite harder than other, larger predatory sharks, Maria Habegger of the University of South Florida said.

Habegger, with research colleagues in the United States and Germany, analyzed the bite forces of 13 species of shark.

Would've liked the full stats on this. I remember some Shark Week thing about it...didn't seem wildly scientific. After all - the sharks don't know they're being tested. Maybe they're not putting everything into every bite. What I do remember was, the Bull was off the charts-strong. Whitey, strong enough. Tiger - surprisingly wimpy. Didn't see a hammerhead, but I've seen what they can do in the wild, and...don't get bitten by a hammerhead.
