Rant - California Triple [video]

Growing up in a low income, predominantly African-American neighborhood in Colerain Township, Ohio, board enthusiast, Chris “Crib” Butler, had no idea that one day he would call the mountains of Lake Tahoe, beaches of Santa Cruz, and streets of San Francisco his playground. Today, he is living his dream of making skateboards and pursuing his passions for surfing, snowboarding, and skateboarding.

Join Crib on a 500 mile, 18-hour journey throughout Northern California, as he attempts to do all three board sports in one day (California Triple). See for yourself how the dream is still alive.

Primary raw footage was filmed over an 18-hour time period, during a 500 mile journey through Lake Tahoe, Santa Cruz, and San Francisco with Chris 'Crib' Butler.

Because breaking the color line in board sports is almost as much of a feat as being out and gay.

Well, nobody's pulled off #2 yet.

Why is "predominantly African American" important?
Because the writer wants us to come to the conclusion that he comes straight outta the get-toe without spelling it out for us, thereby risking the appearance of insensitivity.
Props this this man however, taking the road less traveled takes courage and character- he made it out of the hood after all.
