Amy is a long-time surfer/poet/model/conceptual artist living in laguna beach. her creativity leads her to engage with the edges of materiality, time and space with a humorous transgressional vibe. this is her work "Up the Ass of the Universe" - part of a series of momentary poses she took during a recent surf trip with a women's conceptual art surf team to mal pais (during which they tormented travelling dudes by being totally serious about everything). "the Momentary Pose Series allows me to express my concerns at the increasing entropy of social interaction, whilst maintaining an ironic distance from the fact that my surfing still kinda blows", Amy says in an artist's statement accompanying the work. Amy is represented by galleries in New York, LA and Shanghai, which greatly pisses off other artists who are not 20-something surfer chicks.
