"American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood is diving into acting with her first feature film role in the drama "Soul Surfer." The project is directed by Sean McNamara and tells the true story of teen surfing champion Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in a shark attack at the age of 13.
Highly unethical. Next thing you know, people will be lined up at beaches to try to become the next teenage shark-attack survivor.

What's unethical about a TV depiction of a real life event?
I don't see how that term applies. Distasteful, maybe. Cheesy, certainly. Unethical? errrrr . . . .

i think it could be good for clearing the line-up actually. i mean really, who wants to lose a limb?
we should all give Carrie a hand (at least) for stepping up to take this gig, though the word on the boulevard is that they needed to twist her arm a lot to get her to fit the role. and...uhh...thats all i've got.
i heard her on the radio saying that she's most excited about the opportunity to work with Sean McNamara:
"I'm just super impressed by his hands-off approach to directing...he lets his actors do their own thing... and he's such an easy person to be around... not intimidating at all... just really disarming."
The staff of the movie was at Carrie's beck and call the whole time. They Key Grip was quoted: "We're short handed here, Carrie's using strong armed techniques to get my tech people to do things not on their rider, but on hers My crew is being dealt a bad hand. "

Surfed with Bethany at Lowers on June, she was super nice and totally ripped. It was super crowded and one guy says " I'm dropping in and people are trying to get out of my way with one arm, what the f***" That guy was a tool.

As long as the film has emdless footage of Carrie Underwood in a skimpy bikini (ala Kate Bosworth in Blue Crush), I'm all for it.
