Does CI offer any good deals on the demo boards after?
Kinda looking for a big guy short board, 7'4" to 7'10" and 2 7/8" to 3" thick.

@Wave Glider - woah, that is pretty big. my recommendation is to work with a decent shaper. I thought I had to ride something longer, but ended up getting a custom 6'1 x 19 3/4" x 2 5/8" and I'm loving it (I weigh a tad over 200). A little bit wider under the chest so it still paddles really well, but its the shortest board I've ridden in 7 or 8 years and super-responsive. It'll definitely cost you less than buying off the rack.

I used to live on Baker around Fell. One year there was some swell running during Outside Lands or Hardly Strictly. Never again. Took two hours just to get home. I'd love to demo some boards, but will be avoiding the beach at all costs this weekend.

Still haven't answered my question. Does CI sell the boards after they demo them at these events?
As for going shorter, I'll go 6'10" but no less. The MBM and M4 interest me.
And thanks for the feedback SFOBK and Tt.

I love these demo sessions! Except last year they did it during the sand castle thing, and there was no parking for miles. I left without getting out of the car. This year during outside lands, awesome (note sarcasm). Why can't they schedule sometime during the rest of the year when the parking lot is empty?

@SFOBKnewb: mind if I ask who the shaper was? I'm looking to make exactly what you describe, and sounds like I'm about the same size as you.

WG, talk to Ed Barbera at Northern Lights in Bodega. He knows Sonoma County waves and can understand your needs for the Bo.

And does anyone know what happened to Neff in Davenport? He had a little shaper shack just next to the cafe there, and his specialty was a mini simmonds type board he called the Hemmeroid ("because you catch so many waves with it you're a pain in the ass"). Great guy, and made great boards, though he always takes twice as long to do repairs as he says, and hanging out there was a parade of pissed off people coming and asking why their board isn't ready. But alas he's gone now, the shack is closed up.
