I just got sick to my stomach. It could also be the el farolito from last night but I'm pretty sure this was it...

i have a solution....paddle out 100 meters outside of line up with a giant bucket of fish guts.... start to chum and slowly drag the fish guts behind your board as you go back towards the line-up. get out of the water & wait for the landlord... Upon his arrival shout and make a commotion...2 days later the lineup is empty... SUCCESS

let the masses have that wave...it's a dough-boy wave anyway whether one or a hundred are on it. Better to have them there than here. Think about this: In ten years that will be considered uncrowded. Quicksilver et al can't wait.

Wow - such pessimism. I have faith that Ocean Beach is too wild, strong, unyielding, cold and inhospitable to result in such overcrowding. (Well, unless the wavejet takes off .... wait a minute, sh*t ... but I guess then I will just head to the Kelly Slater's Sutro Bath Wave Pool, pay my 100 bucks and catch 3 waves).

FP + Barney + Outgoing tide = one less surfer crowding lineups everywhere. just suck it up and let it happen for the good of the sport.

I think being out in the open ocean is too much a part of the experience I crave to enjoy an indoor wave/pool. It just doesn't seem appealing.

im glad half the time i surf in sf its a battle for survival so there's no way i'm expecting to see a crowd like this any time soon.
also glad its freezing most of the time. this keeps pussies out of the water and makes way for men of courage. dont have much respect for surfers who only go out when conditions permit but i do love their decision to do so. =D

EVERYONE, even my grandma, knows there's a wave under the golden gate bridge... its obviously not that hard to find.

This is a picture from when they were trying to break the Guiness record for most people on one wave. So I wouldn't start freaking out.

@Senor_O, I thought so too. But the picture is also a fair example of surfing's exploded popularity. @mk, It's pessimistic to believe surfing will be even more crowded in 10 years? Au contraire, I think that is just basic realism 101. I think it's way more pessimistic for you to think you will have to pay 100 bucks to experience your surf session in a wave pool.
