SANTA CRUZ - An older woman accidentally hit the gas pedal of her car instead of the brake Friday afternoon, jumping a curb and smashing into the window of a Mission Street surf shop.
The woman was not injured and no one inside the Arrow Surf Shop was either, said Santa Cruz Police Deputy Chief Rick Martinez. He said the incident happened around 3 p.m. and caused about $1,000 in damage to the store.
Martinez did not immediately know the woman's age.
