Most of the ESPN 30 for 30's that I've seen have been really good. This airs on ESPN Tuesday, 10/1 @ 5pm.
Looking forward to it. ESPN's 30 for 30 is excellent. Glad they chose to bio a real Hawaiian waterman. Wassel should take notes.
Aside from an irritating music/noise track and unneeded Hollywood style recreations that the film would have been improved without, a good story about a good man. Eddie will always be the King, no one more deserving. A fearless yet humble warrior who did everything he could to help everyone he could.
The story also clearly illustrates the ocean as the last remaining stronghold for the native Hawaiians since their land was taken from them, and the genesis of the 'show respect' localism that remains in place today.
Just as it should be.
