Those guys are crazy! So smooth passing the cam back and forth while bombing. Image how fast they'd be if they shaved!

I grew up in Berkeley and skated tons as a kid. Those hills are no joke. A lot of that video was clearly shot around the Grizzly Peak/Claremont region. Looks pretty intense. Lots of steep sections and definitely some crucial winds and hairpins. A couple of kids have died via car collisions over the years trying to bomb Marin, which in terms of slope degree makes the terrain in this video look like flat land.

This was the most recent incident. Anyone who is familiar with Marin Ave. knows how ludicrous the concept of bombing it is.

@Hurricane- Tyler wasn't bombing the steep part of Marin. He was going to his friends' house on the flatter part @ Tulare... No helmet, in the dark, and car backs out of driveway. Super sad.

@Shaqfu, Sorry for the mistake. I just went off the media (which obviously often neglects the details) on that last one. I haven't lived on that side of the pond for years and wasn't that informed. Either way, bombing or not, it is tragic, especially when it's someone that young. By no means did I intend to suggest anyone had it coming. I grew up skating in the nineties, and there were multiple incidents on Marin. One in particular, that happened in the generation before me, was always on peoples' lips. Basically, that street and skating have a scary past. That video brought it to mind. Again, apologies for being uninformed and/or if you misinterpreted my post. Thanks for the clarification, and sorry for your loss if you personally knew him.

That's Claremont, from Grizzly Peak all the way to the bottom at the Hotel. Bombed it (sitting down) 30 yrs ago, clocked at 45mph+. The GF driving the ould Buick couldn't keep up. Those guys are going faster. Nuckin' futs! It looks like they barely make the two big lefthand sweepers on that run.
We used to prefer bomnbing hills at night, you see the headlights of cars before the car comes around the turn.

@Hurricane- It's all good. I know kids who were close friends with Tyler.
My Drivers ED teacher at BHS told me that in the late 70s some kids tried to coast their car (with ignition off) down Marin starting at Grizzly Peak... with the power steering and brakes off, the car took out a telephone pole starting 10 feet up.
