crowded Cowells Surf-

Looks like Bolinas these days.

It can and does get a little crowded there at times, especially when the surf schools are in the water during the summer months.

And here's what's in the water at any given time . . .

Growing up in Bolinas in the '70s, we would be astonished if there were 10 people out at the Channel. It didn't happen very often. Even through the '90s, and even on a great day, it was nowhere near as bad as it is now. These days, 10 people would be considered uncrowded on a crappy day. Good ol' internet + surf shop marketing + surf schools...

That's what Cowells is for! I "popped up" on a massive board there for the first time in 1999.

We've all got to start somewhere...
