An activity for the summer blues... which of these "legendary" boards have you tried and did you in fact find them to be magic or were they more of a what's-the-big-fuss?
McCoy Nugget
Liddle hull
Walden Magic model
FF4
Bonzer 5-fin
7S superfish
Hull = super fun
FF4- I assume you mean Stretch's Fletcher Four Fin, I had an early one before it became a model. Not the best quad I have had.
Bonzer 5-fin = yes pure magic, have had a couple and looking to add another soon.
and hope you are sarcastic listing a 7s superfish
I've got a McCoy Nugget and it's a fun little pig of a board. It's a shortboard, but it's stupid thick and carries the volume all the way out to it's soft round rails. The bottom is convex giving rocker both from front to back but also from side to side. This makes it a super forgiving board, but it still turns okay and catches waves easily.
I only take it out when the waves are really small and use it as a longboard even though it's just over 6'. While it does turn, it doesn't snap, and it's a little slow. So it's good fun on mush and would be a great beginner+ board, you can only do so much with it. If you're looking for big wrapping cutbacks or airs, no joy here. If you're looking for a fun toy that catches waves and paddles like a motorboat, it's good times.
Magic board for the east coast or really small summer stuff.
