you guy are so wrong. these boards are amazing. once the price comes down to 1K, 90% of the boards will be power assist. its like hand starting a car, yeah it was fun in the 20s but i prefer to turn a key.

who wants to paddle anyways. its a waste of energy and most middle age surfers from socal cant paddle the beach so how are they going to get outside on a 4' day and clog the lineup with all the mid-20s socal guys who already ruined the beach? there will be no rest until OB looks like HB on a 3' day in June.

we need to embrace the wavejet and other radical changes to surfing that will allow more out of shape surfers to enjoy the waves up here. the SUP revolution is still slow to take hold at the beach, but it will get there. especially now that you can have a wavejet SUP. you have the giant paddle and a motor, if you can't do serious damage at the beach with that combo you should move back to malibu.

I like the idea of the bodyboard. Would make it easier for some water shooting with the GoPro or any other water camera. Quick in and out of the way/waves.

Check out the Jaw's paddle session video on Surfline. At about 1:56 in, it looks to me like a black Wavejet gun going over the falls. That board appears to have bent, and or in the process of breaking in half, but not to be.

I hate GoPros. Why does everyone need to have a video of everything they do? I'm soooo radical! Look at me.

@goingleft, it's called 'balance' in ones life. I find the GoPro one of the most versatile cameras for the money in the long time I've been taking pics. Also, it's called 'creativity' too.

so Makai- if you have a Go Pro you are 'balanced' and 'creative'?? What if I choose to go do things, not so I can show everyone what I did, but because I love it?

you can always tell the people who are straddling upside down wave jets in the water because they are making O faces. it can be quite awkward if you paddle to close to one of them.
