So over the past few weeks I have consistently driven down the coast and every time i notice a nice little gem away from society. I always think about paddling out but I don't know anything about the break. (I realize it's a nude beach but that doesn't bother me in the least) Has anyone ever surfed here or know anything about the break that could be useful? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yes, gets good, little hike in keeps the crowd away, deep waters,2 spot N and S depending on swell direction! also Montara gets good, are we aloud to talk about this ? Don't want any more surf camps popping up,Also feels very sharky

sorry--didnt mean to just leave a snarky 'yes.' (though i'm kindof glad i did.) if gwc gets crowded (>5ppl), one can just pop around the point, and end up in the secret pirate cove. waves are even more meh than at gwc (when its working, its probably working better elsewhere), though the atmosphere is precious.

Pretty meh option all around but GWC can have its moments as a summer spot.
1) Occasionally it's less windy than counterparts... lindy, montara, ect.
2) Can throw up a nice wedge when windswell or small groundswell bends into the cove.
Mostly it's a weird / steep beach that has some semi shallow rocks near the ######. It gives off a pretty sharky vibe imo and I'd image someone's seen a fin there at some point. Never seen it anywhere near good - montara is def better - and while its worth surfing at some point, don't feel like you're passing some gem when you drive by.

Wow you have 8 posts and 75 comments on this site and still haven't noticed that whole thing about location turtle? That's impressive!

The whole stretch between Pacifica and HMB really gives off that NorCal beach vibe. Ominous and gloomy, but on a sunny day the water visibility is disturbingly clear.
