And as you celebrate consider how this holiday impacts many countries where we like to surf. Sorry to be a buzz kill but it has to be acnowledged.

On the other hand, KoK, the harms to which you refer are actually caused by laws, not by marijuana per se. We experienced the same thing under alcohol prohibition. Come November, Californians will have a chance to vote on an initiative to repeal state-level marijuana prohibition. It would be wonderful to pass that measure primarily because it would cut down on the insane black market violence associated with this drug.

I used to do a blog about drug law, and made a little YouTube clip on this issue.

Completely agree. I'm not anti pot. I'm anti decapitation. But until laws change our behaviour impacts our friends to the south. It's very American to ignore that. But anti stoke.

I don't know anybody who smokes that bammer from Mexico anyway. Got to love the clubs and local growers.

U.S. Marijuana Growers Cutting Into Profits of Mexican Traffickers

ARCATA, Calif. — Stiff competition from thousands of mom-and-pop marijuana farmers in the United States threatens the bottom line for powerful Mexican drug organizations in a way that decades of arrests and seizures have not, according to law enforcement officials and pot growers in the United States and Mexico.
