Ayeeee! Run for the hills! No joke, though. At high tide this could potentially wash up on Great Highway.

I know this will sound very 'know-it-all", but:

1 They've (and you know who they are) had these size storms predicted before

2 The storms do not mature into these monsters that are predicted 138 hrs out...48 hrs out is usually more reliable info.

3 Even if these storms come to pass, waves will not roll over the Great Highway, though at the ######, the waves might undercut the bluff more. Onshore winds in conjunction with high tide more destructive than just big waves. A certain apartment complex in P-city is in more danger than the Great Highway.

4 Check back with these maps every few winters, and you'll see those colors again.

5 Time to head to south to Capitola!

Hey Duncan - I did know all of that but always appreciate being "reminded" in a nice way...
I was actually reveling in the fantasy tempest that is a 42's swell.....
The idea of perching on the dunes and watching the heaving sea had that sort of Melville feel to it that I liked to start the new year..

peaceout
