Dennis Wilson, the Beach Boy who drowned a week ago last Wednesday, never got that many headlines in life. He may have been the most friendly, voluble and open member of America's longest-standing rock band, but he was never one of the group's main composers, vocalists or even instrumental contributors.
Being a Beach Boy didn't make Dennis Wilson happy - far from it. He was the ignored Beach Boy, snubbed by fans and fellow band members. His personal life was full of difficulties. Early this year, his younger brother, Carl, tactfully said Dennis was having "personality problems."
