Rant - Linda Mar Water Stank Gone

FYI: For weeks the water at Linda Mar has smelled suspiciously like the toilets. Maybe that smell was related to a plankton bloom or some other non-land-mammal source. Now the water is fresh smelling and crystal clear.

I'm down in San Diego at the moment. On the flight down (Thursday) I could see non-continuous patches of red algae from Orange County all the way to San Diego. Couldn't see north of that (was on the wrong side of the plane) but others have reported on the red tide also being up in San Mateo County. The patches would hang and hug the area right outside the breakers. It did not extend far out to sea.
