yeah the production value is pretty low, I gotta say, especially compared to the Eddie webcast. but the rides are awesome!

edit: I suddenly have a strong desire to drink a nice cold Sierra Nevada(tm) pale ale and a shot of Jim Beam(tm), while wearing my comfy Mavericks Surf Gear(tm) hoodie and filming my living room with a GoPro(tm) camera...

My wife got me a 1/2 day boat tour for the contest.... Amazing to watch from the channel... Ride out to the break was crazy & felt more sketchy than it probably actually was!

I caught up with Alex after his phenomenal performance in the first heat. He was stoked beyond belief, convinced that today was the biggest he had ever caught Mavs, and that the sentiment from the other guys was that the wipe-outs were heavier than they'd experienced. All in all, it was a gnarly day all around, with some serious waves and beatdowns for the surfers and the spectators. And I have to say...it was pretty awesome to be out there and experience it first hand.
