Looking for some folks to show me some surf spots!

I'm new to the area and people have told me this is where I come to to learn the ropes on where to surf. I'm a new surfer too. Not sure what localism is but sign me up! Went to a place called ###### yesterday and it was friggin FLAT!! What gives?
