Court rules that some lady's been blocking access. Ahem, martins beach, cough cough.
There is nothing like precedence to encourage judges....and this certainly is good precedence.
Vinod throws down...
Hah! He needs a good trolling. That would be a GREAT billboard :)
Totally agree, piss. But the Martin's Beach case is muddled by factors not encountered in other access suits. That includes the history of the place, agrcultural use, MB village leases and septic concerns, and the new owner's challenge of the basic notion and definition of public/private property. The new owner seems perfectly willing to throw endless amounts of money fighting this and tying it up in the courts in perpetuity. From what I've read about the guy, he feels he has more money than the state does to fight this and that he fully intends to be the last man standing. A real shame, because Martin's was like a time warp...it always felt like what I thought a post-depression era visit to the beach would be like....or maybe that was just the acid.
Only solution is to just surf it. End of story.
PS, not really a decent surf spot.
no one has more money than the State. offer nothing for enough years, then offer a pittance and spin it as a win-win is my prediction.
"I think I saw some juvenile snowy plovers getting chased around by a San Francisco garter between the existing structures..." -then you've got a real kink. That was pure conjecture, by the way.
An insight into his state of mind.....“I sort of had a habit at age 12 of insulting priests in India, because it was fun for me. I was a troll,” Khosla said Friday. “There is fun in that. If there’s a lot of conventional wisdom, challenging it is fun.”.........
Ha, with all the state budget cuts looming, I may have more money than the state...and THAT'S only a couple of wooden nickles. But you may on to something with that plover/snake idea...throw in a hidden Condor nest to seal the deal. But to that end we would probably find ourselves restricted to viewing Martin's with binoculars from behind velvet ropes.
@Fatnewt: wasn't that snowy plover chasing a red legged frog?
Good news. Interesting how the "access" group cut a deal that kept access closed. Smells like somebody's palm got greased.
Hey Vinod, this may sound crazy, but would you buy Stoke Report?
@piss: let me think. do I want to buy an online community of a dozen whiney losers? yes! of course! I'll get an associate to bring round a cashiers check this afternoon.
oh, bite me. I'm off to abuse the lineup at the Bo on a 12 foot SUP. you'll know it's me coz I'll be paddling in from my seaplane. bitches.
Well, when I read this, breakfast came out my nose. Good show Vinod, good show. I knew you had quite the online presence. Anyway, think of what you'd get by buying Stoke Report which is rife with whiney losers: You get to be the benevolent dictator, and be leader of a community wherein everyone MUST be your friend. You can buy friendship dude. With the purchase of stokereport LLC, you get quite a few friends. And you'd get the key features you'd be looking for: like censorship of the word Martins. Imagine those hashes, shiny like diamonds, when someone inadvertently types them in and gets that result. It would be as if Martins never existed, and your wishes would be secured. If we could only afford your deep consideration on this matter, so that we can do the needful.
