Memorial Paddle Out for Barney the Sea Lion This Weekend

This week, we lost a great friend.

Barney, the sea lion, was doing what he loved most when fate intervened - surfing and eating just outside the breakers at Linda Mar.

We'll be gathering at the pump house on Saturday morning to remember all 600 lbs. of Barney. And share stories about when he used to poke his head out of the water nearby and stare at us with those big black inquisitive eyes.

Well wishers are asked to make a donation to the Surfrider foundation in his honor. Barney is survived by 15 wives and 20 children.
