Rant - Must See - Blame the Cell Ad?

These guys saw the billboard on the way to their power lunch in the financial district and decided to give it a go. Things start to get really interesting around 2:25. Unbelievable.

Agreed. I definitely don't condone what they're doing, or not doing. The caring option would have been to direct the trio back to their car before they got near the water.

Wow! the guys filming were messed up but those guys going in were out of their minds. i don't even know where to start... i would hate to see them try to get in at some place with tons of fishermen in pacifica. the 1 where if u don't time it right u have a high probability of drowning... i am at a loss for words. can someone explain if this is the norm for that secret spot?

where did the video go? I had no idea you could surf under the Golden Gate Bridge!! I just status updated my FB and Tweeted plus I am following SL so I can know when the conditions are the best and invited 20 of my friends. Who would have know that such a surf oasis existed this whole time under our noses and only two people in the world knew it. Thanks for blowing the lid off this secret spot!!! Blahhhhahahah!! I would totally blame the phone company for this.....now everyone knows! hahah! Occupy FtP!!!! Occupy FtP!!!!!

@Mark, Here's a plot synopsis for you:

3 guys roll up on what appears to be a high tide in a storm

3 guys opt to jump in at the worst possible location

3 guys don't have leashes on

guy 1 barely misses getting tossed into the boulders

guy 1 tries to put his leash on right outside of a large rock and almost gets put into it

guy 2 jumps in at the worst possible moment, turtle flailing on the back of his board, and gets cleaned up while his board gets battered

guy 2 swims around and grabs onto the large rock while his board gets pummeled again

guy 2 makes it in at which point he realizes his leash is tangled in the boulders

board destruction continues with fin loss

guy 3 recognizes the errors of his friends and does nothing

@Hurricanewe....Just trying to make fun of the fact that this place is well known as a great place to surf in Northern California. Remember that little contest that came to the area that had the World's Best televised surfing this spot?? I'm sure there will be plenty of waves for all who surf there regardless of some stupid sam-song ad. Was told once that "everyone loves a little ass but nobody likes a smart ass"! Words of wisdom. be good!

I see, Rocco. Just clarifying that I by no means would actually blame that ad for much. Apparently Samsung is doing the same thing down south with LA spots. Also, when I posted this I definitely didn't want to get into the realm of discussing said location's "secret" nature as that's repeatedly been over tread ground on this site. That discussion is futile and never ends pretty. This was simply posted for the purpose of entertainment and marveling at stupidity.

Glad it brightens up your work day. I regularly poke around YouTube and Vimeo for S.F. and NorCal related surf footage. I noticed this particular bit yesterday, on the same day it was apparently uploaded. If it was recent I'd say it kinda looks like it could have been shot Saturday morning, but if that was the case I'd expect higher surf in the clip as there was a lot of swell running. I was on a Farallones boat trip that day that got turned around right outside of the gate in very harsh weather due to the intensity of the storm. Anyone that thinks surfing this location in such conditions is worthwhile or safe for newcomers would likely be classifiable as possessing neanderthal level intelligence. Then again, given the consistency the fellas in the video showed for repeatedly fucking up, it wouldn't shock me...

Nah, I'm going with this being pretty real, and not contrived. I know kook when I see it (mostly in the mirror). And this is unadulterated, pure, deliciously reduced kooksauce. When I surf there, I'm kid gloves scardy mc scardy shit pants, and ultra careful, and rarely use that entrance in, nor out. So again, that's why I'm going with this being a real Samsung Galaxy deal.
