New Jersey's Night

1546

So it’s summer on the East Coast and that bead of sweat running down your back is moving just a little slower than the car in front of you. Your lineup has been invaded by beefed-up clowns who spent last night chugging Miller Light. The last time you saw a real wave was in Central America or maybe back in May. But those overhead swells are long gone, replaced by double shifts and sunburn.

But hey, summer ain’t all bad, especially in New Jersey. Think back to those Julys when you were young – kicking it with girls on the boardwalk, hanging out at the surf shop and those perfect peeling sandbars.

Whether your sand-filled Garden State grom days were the summer of ’09 or ’69, you might want to get out to Tuckerton Seaport on July 22 for “Singlefins, Boardwalks & Storytalks II.”

I will be in LBI, NJ next week getting pitted on some sandbar barrels: A high point of the annual family trip!
