No Stink-um

Rant - No Stink-um

Nothing seemed to work to get my 5mm booties dry. The smell was awful. I even tried putting them in the dryer, to no avail. Then the light bulb came on. I put them under the dryer vent while a load of clothes is drying. Presto! Dry, odor-free booties.

I'm convinced that stinky booties act as shark repellant.

Best cure for Stinkum is Omar. Sorry, it was too easy.

you old salty dog, you...what a clever idea. That's one of those, "now why didn't I think of that?" ideas....probably because I don't have a dryer vent. Nevertheless, as a bonus, I guess you could eventually end up with fleece (lint) lined booties.
Ch ch ch chia booties?

i dry them inside out. probably compromises their lifespan, but it works.

Inside out dry. That's all you have to do.

Letting em sit is some fresh water with about a cap full of Listerine to get rid of any built-up bacteria that might be adding to that smell has always worked pretty well for me.
I usually do this about once a month are as needed for stink.

Team skin, reporting in. Sometimes, when it's colder than a witches tit and I have to walk home, yes....I do admit that I should have worn them. But of note, it's only for the walk home. So I don't care if they stink really in general :)

Nice one! But I have a pile of line where my air vent exits so you might get lint balls, I made a Contraption =5 bamboo sticks in cement in a bucket for my gloves and booties and hat,(patient pending)

Hay now ,I have a mesh surf hat from oneil and a hood with a brim ;) I hate the 7 pm sun in the salty eyes,

if anybody wants one of my sticks in a bucket accessory drier let me know, I even put sea glass and shells on the top of cement for a fashion statement

The Listerine Trick works well. For full effect, wash in warm, soapy water. Then rinse and soak in the Listerine solution described above. Dry 'em real good. You may need to repeat this...booties STANK.

Those xcell bamboo booties really stank, I ditched them and gambled on some scuba ones on amazon for $30. 5mm ,zipper, nobie grip on bottom and lower sides, they work great! Easy to get off and off ,there my 5th pair of booties and the best yet!!! I had excel bamboo, oneils, bongs, and quicksilvers and these are the ones

+1 for drying inside out. Since i started drying inside out I no longer have stink and my booties get completely dry.

I can't get my 5 millimeter booties turned inside out. I have tried and tried. The 3 millimeter ones were easy but not these. I think I might have to dry the dryer vent method.
Will consider those dive ones when I replace these. $24.95? Good price!

Robin @ Son Light gave me this one: cut the bottom off two plastic water bottles; insert one into each bootie, small side down. Dry standing up. Not stinkless, but much less stinky. Listerine/water is a good call, too, @jawkdna
