Overregulation of San Francisco Ocean Beach protects no one

2608

Many years back when a number of whales mysteriously beached themselves on The City’s ocean shore, it brought together a major outpouring of San Francisco’s deep-felt compassion and often wayward political correctness.

And that union produced a bumper sticker for the ages: “Save the Gay Whales.”

I was reminded of this recently by the heat wave that followed weeks of rain and drove thousands of people to Ocean Beach. It’s a place where people can flock to, but yet average citizens cannot swim. It’s a place where regular people may no longer be allowed to have their dogs run free. And yet it will be safe for sand-bound plants and the elusive snowy plover.

BS, personally, I'm still calling for on-leash for the protection of others and other doggies.
Also the author doesn't know that you have about 40min without a wetsuit, so the fishcop was just doing his job so mommy doesn't go home crying when her kid's in a box.
Personal summary: beat it dumbass and come back when you understand how sh1t works.
Ocean Beach Insane Clown Posse currents how do they work?

The beach is in fact 3 miles long.
The snowy plover is NOT elusive.
Many people, including experienced surfers, DO NOT drown there each year.

Appears as though Mr. Garcia has a dog in this hunt, albeit one without voice control.

I demand that the NPS authorities explain to me how to get "carried out" past the break.

really silly journalism. the examiner's and chronical's concept of a good columnist is one that stirs up controversy, not one that actually does research and has insight. we see this time and time again especially when it comes to the ocean. what garbage.
