Pointbreak in China

My uncle and cousin work in Beihai, which is on the mainland near Hainan. My uncle has been in the surf industry for a long time and he's been telling me about Hainan Island for years. He says it's so cheap to have a really good island vacation there. The water is warm, the beaches are uncrowded, food is cheap, and the people are nice. The waves on the other hand are fairly inconsistent (if you look on a map you can see why this is). I'm still strongly considering taking a trip out there.
