Like our Fearless President, I'll vote "Present." Dick Dale is one craaazy cat, man. If you've a got a few minutes check out his website: http://www.dickdale.com/. He also did an in-studio performance in January on the best radio station I know of. (Side note, the whole interview was very entertaining as he has sort of a psychedelic-stream-of-concsiousness way of talking.)

Saw Dick Dale live at Belly Up Tavern in Encinitas years ago. Great great show. Walked out at midnight. It was hot and offshore in late summer. Proceeded to surf Swamis from 12:30 am to 1:30am under a rising full moon (front of waves were illuminated: ocean pitch black. 3 feet and clean. My buddy, me and a naked guy were out there. Classic.

KoK, funny thing... last time I saw Dick Dale live was the Belly Up (good old Cedros, lived about 1/2 block down at one point.)

Tribal Thunder was his latest then... left with an autographed t-shirt and a more-than-healthy buzz... no night patrol for me!
