Salmon sharks at SF OB today

Got out of the water at ###### today and there was what looked like a 2.5ft white shark beached in the sand but still gilling. Borrowed a phone from a passerby and reported it to the Steinhart; they said it was a juvenile salmon shark and they have been washing ashore the last few days; apparently there is a virus or something effecting them. I picked it up and put it back in the water several times to no avail; it kept beaching its self. Bummer. Looked so much like a white shark, a good reminder of what right past the impact zone..
