I have always been interested in joining a longboarding club like Pedro Point club or Santa Cruz Longboarding Union, but I am born and raised at Ocean Beach SF. I was wondering if anyone knows about any Longboard Surf clubs in SF? Would anyone be interested in joining one? I am a longboard fanatic and would love to participate in contests, and meet fellow longboarders who are interested in taking surf trips and organizing beach cleanups, and help represent the SF longboarding community.

Doesn't seem to be too many individuals interested in organized clubs up north here. Not that it's bad, just seems that most like to do their own thing. I have a friend from Napa who passes by my home on her way to MCBL several times a week, tried to get her to share a ride once in a while, even offered to drive too, but no go.
So as for a Longboard club, doubt it would go over. Best bet is to approach a shop first and maybe ask if there are Longboard regulars and then see if they have a mailing list to ask them.
I belong to the Harbour Owners Society, I know BFD, and once a year, usually the first or second week of November they have the gathering at Seal Beach open to all even if you don't own a Harbour board. Lots of fun, with a raffle/surfboard give away, and great stories. Rich Harbour usually shows up too.
