exactly fin...but this is America and the trickle-down theory is sacred. Everything must be named, cataloged, and recorded for full exploitation and profit by the surf-industrial-complex. (just kidding, sort of). My intention was just for fun...to see how far-off some guesses could be. Those who know the locale can be content in their knowledge, and those that don't know..still don't...but can keep on guessing.

@King, Rockford's trailer was at Paradise Cove, south of Dume Cove aka Malibu where the pic in question is of.

BTW, Google Earth side by side with the pic is invaluable, and shows it all.

Isn't Pt. Doomed slightly out of the way for a HNL / LAX flight? Was the plane hijacked by Allen Sarlo?

@waggy, not unless the flight had a stopover in San Diego, and or the flight required them to circle and come in on a westerly pattern.

If memory serves me correct, most inbound LAX flights land east to west depending on weather conditions.

BTW, the distance is approx 27 miles from Pt. "Doomed" to LAX, not as the crow / plane flies though.
