SoCal reef blowing up

Rant - SoCal reef blowing up

My buddy down south sent me some pictures (from this morning) of a reef break that loves a good NW swell. Makes me really miss surfing those classic California rocky reefs.

Can we name this one? I'd guess PB point / Bird Rock.

just a little north of san diego. should NOT post pics of those 2 spots. not that cool.

Both are good guesses, but not correct. Any other guesses? This is a not-so-secret spot, that's for sure.

@dsx2000 - if it's not cool to post pics, why even mention where they are? Duh.

Table Tops?

Haha..Table Tops! That place hates me. That whole stretch of beach hates me. I used to work in Encinitas and I would check that spot all the time and it was never breaking...EVER. But no, it's not Table Tops.

Very cool to post pics from today's action, thanks. I reckon there's a few of us stuck behind a desk feeling left out. No need to name spots, Surfline will give away all the details tonight.

north of SD can mean anything. the spots arent secret but are also not big names either.

North of SB County, Cables?

Who's going to mention the reef next to Cables now? This has gone too far.

@A-Framer: Really good guess, but it's not 11th st. The pictures sure do make it look like it though. I've had some of the longest rides of my life at 11th street. Had a session I'll never forget out there during the 2007 wildfires. Typically its a mushy wave, but on a low-tide and a solid swell that place fires. Talk about a break that gets crazy crowded.

Anyways, Kai Ryssdal, Mr. NPR himself is right. We probably can't have everyone start naming every reef break from here to Mexico. Oh well, I really just wanted to share the surf pictures with everyone, that's all.

thanks for sharing and I liked the guessing game. if you're gonna post the pics, you might as well name the names... that's just one man's opinion.

Okay, considering this place isn't a secret spot by any means and really only breaks a handful of times a year I don't mind sharing.

These photos are from SUNSET CLIFFS. The actual spot shall go unnamed. Thanks for playing.
