Abraham ###### once said "Avoid popularity if you would have peace.", but ###### Berlin famously countered with "Never hate a song that's sold a half million copies".
In today's troubled world, who should one believe? We could put a man on the moon, and ###### could cross the nation with a railroad, but we're nowhere close as a people to figuring out right from wrong. Like ###### in the Philippines, sometimes it seems we're beset with trouble from all angles. ######'s experience in Panama teaches us that a friendship is only as good as you can throw your friend; otherwise ######'s name might be all over California, and ######'s great-grandchild its governor. Might there be tract homes where ###### once ranched if backs hadn't been stabbed and alliances shattered? ###### may not have been so victorious after all!
Be deferential, but watch your ass. Don't be too overbearing; ###### certainly learned his lesson from that! R. ###### "Trapped in the Closet" leaves us with some notes of hope, however: "I'm sure we can all fix this".
Make of it what you can. Every day is brand new.
