From Surfline: Next up; we have been monitoring a large and complex storm as it moved out from under New Zealand and into the Central SPAC the past week or so. This storm activity has resulted in a much better and larger SSW (190-205) groundswell that will fill in for the end of the week and into the upcoming weekend. New SSW groundswell will slowly and gradually begin to build in over Thurs/Fri, the 16th-17th. Thursday still looks pretty slow with mainly knee-waist zone waves, maybe a few plus sets just before sundown at the top spots; Friday picks up further with waist-shoulder zone surf and head high to slightly overhead sets showing through the day at the better breaks as more swell fills in.
The bulk of this SSW energy will then show over the upcoming weekend and peak later Saturday and into early Sunday, gaining size and consistency during that time. Most breaks with any kind of southerly exposure will offer plenty of shoulder-head high surf, while standout southern hemi breaks will be up to a couple of feet overhead by late Friday, the 17th and through the early part of the day on Sunday. A slow and gradual easing trend will then take over through early next week. Stay tuned for updates while we track the swell through the Pacific as it heads our way over the next few days.
Here are two images from Swell Info. The one with the green is Santa Cruz. The less stellar one is OB.

Zurffy-have fun in Malibu, gorgeous area. If you get a chance, check a restaurant named Cafe Habana if you like Cuban food. The grilled corn is insane. Worth a look.
