Whenever I see a lighthouse like that being battered by waves, part of me can't help thinking of the folks who built it scurrying around yelling "AAAAAA lay the bricks faster, we have to finish before the next wave! OH GOD HURRY!!!!" (I realize this is not how people build lighthouses)

Yeah, that lighthouse is in Brittany.

yeah - there's a poster I've seen a few times of that lighthouse + wave, with a dude standing in the door smoking a pipe, apparently unconcerned he's about to get washed away. pretty incredible.
