Interesting. I'll try to keep my fingers apart other than when its so cold I couldn't put them together if I tried.

I find that it also seems to help with arthritis by balancing the strength amongst my fingers. My wrists and forearms are better off for it, too. Wow, if that's not a "getting old" comment....sheesh. Excuse me, I have to go yell at some kids to get off my lawn.

I tested this theory this morn and realized that my fingers are *always* slightly spread b/c it's impossible to keep them together in the cold water. The colder it gets, though, the further apart they get, which sounds like a bad thing--Article says the gap should only be .2x-.4x the diameter of your fingers. That's not very spread. And, of course, after a couple of hours ###### of winter, they're just deformed useless claws. I've actually popped up on my board by pushing w/my knuckles rather than the palm of my hand.

Has anyone tried the Live Long and Prosper technique? That might work.
