@chris wilson: wtf was that boat doing on the inside? Just curious. Seems rather unsafe, as in: they could lose the boat if the wrong set came in.

Somehow missed this for a few days but it's so cool it's worth commenting on even now. Beautiful.

I used to work with a former Coastie who said rolling those boats looks crazy from a distance, but is way crazier from the inside the first time you do it. They make the rescue crews do this stuff over and over so they learn not to freak when the boat rolls.

Normally, if you see one of these boats close up you have better things to worry about than examining how well they're adapted to the most extreme conditions. But one or two of them are usually docked at ###### Baker harbor near the pier if you want a look in less stressful circumstances.
