any one know of a great town to Hunker down for two weeks in late September. looking to Swirl some burgundy between sessions. looking for a cottage or small house on the Beach. will trade ours in SF.
I surfed Lacanau back in the early '90s. If the town is anything like it was, I'd go back there in a heartbeat. My dad and I rented a little cottage w/in walking distance of the beach. The vibe was laid back, food delicious and fresh. It's also close enough to drive to some other spots.
I went to Lacanau a few years a go and had a great time. we stayed at a cheap place just down the beach from the main town (5min walk on beach) and a cool little rec. vehicle place that also had some cabins call Le Gran(d) Pines or something like that. Fun little spot. Can't say that we "scored" interms of waves but we just missed a little swell window...but hey thats surfing. Lacanau's a chill little town you can rent boards, i hear it gets touristy in the summer and crowded but when we were there in sept it was empty
