Ocean Beach and Linda Mar are a HECK of a lot cleaner than Lake Erie. No amount of sewage overflow could match it.
That said: yay! waves! go you dirty lake, go!

Water temp?

According to NOAA / GLERL / CoastWatch Great Lakes Node, Water temp for Erie is about 48F, Air 40F. ~5F Cooler on the northern coast of the lake.

Yes, the great lakes have buoys. Other Water temperature readings sometimes come from ships. Currently on Lake Superior a Canadian Vessel is reporting water temps of 32F, air 32F.
